David Holbert, a fullback out of Nashville (Tenn.) Brentwood

Academy, could be opening holes for Florida's tailbacks next

season.

The 6-1, 225-pound Holbert will announce where he will commit to

on Wednesday, and Florida is reportedly among his favorites.

Brentwood Academy coach Carlton Flatt said Holbert enjoyed

himself during his visit to Gainesville less than two weeks ago.

"He liked it, I know that," Flatt said. "I think it's between

Tennessee, LSU, Auburn and Florida."

While the star fullback also played linebacker for Brentwood

Academy and was recruited by some schools to play on defense, Flatt

said he would rather see Holbert play fullback.

Holbert runs a 4.6 in the 40-yard dash and is a complete blocker

and a good runner, Flatt said. Holbert's additional

pass-catching ability make him a versatile prospect.

"He has really good hands," Flatt said. "At our school I think

he's the best we've had at fullback relative to being both a

blocker and a runner."

While he excels at both run and pass blocking, Flatt said

Holbert is slightly better at blocking for other backs by using his

excellent positioning skills and strength.

"I think the best thing he does is block moving targets," he

said.
