One of the most pressing needs for the Gators this recruiting season was offensive linemen. The Gators got their 4th offensive line commit today from New Jersey's Phil Trautwein. The 6'6, 290 pound offensive tackle has not allowed a sack in over two seasons and was one of the more sought after tackles in America this year. Trautwein brings a combination of good technique, footwork and strength to the table and should develop into a nice player on the college level; the kind of offensive linemen whose name you don't hear called a lot during games.
Trautwein joins fellow tackle Jason Watkins and guards Drew Miller and Jim Tartt in this year's offensive line class for the Gators. The group already has to rank as one of the best any program can boast and there may be a fifth member to this group before it is all said and done. Trautwein chose Florida over Tennessee, Boston College and Michigan State amongst many others.
