Enough with the Florida specialty tag madness

I was so glad to read a Sun article (Jan. 5) and editorial (Jan. 15) on the ridiculous "game of tags" that is being played in this state.

Even more encouraging, Sen. Evelyn Lynn, R-Ormond Beach, is doing something about the flood of specialty tags.

She has filed a bill to ban any new tags after June 30. This will not hurt the worthy causes that now use the plates. The supporters can still send their contributions directly to the organizations.

A bumper sticker would be just as effective, maybe more so, and enforcement agencies would welcome the help.

Remember, legislators, you are not voting against the particular cause, you are supporting the safety and protection of the public.
