12 1/2 tables compete in Gainesville club

  • GAINESVILLE BRIDGE CLUB: There were 12¶ tables competing in a Mitchell Movement game under the direction of Ron Schoenau

    • North-South winners were: first, Len Ringel and Marilyn Froscher, 64.48 percent; second, Lois Hinchey and Betty Moore, 58.52 percent; third, Jeff Baxter and Linda Carder, 53.72 percent; fourth, Louise Edgell and Lou Sarbeck, 53.67 percent; fifth, Helen Collins and Marion Bové, 53.08 percent; fourth in B Strata, Rosalie Bond and Mary Bailey, 51.75 percent; first in C Strata, Kevin and Laura McCarthy, 50.81; second, Margaret Wilson and Mary Medlock, 49.64 percent.

    East-West winners were: first, Betty Skelton and Edna Walker, 61.87 percent; second, Thomas Doolittle and Zev Wajsman, 59.05 percent; third, Devora Seltzer and Taylor Wallace, 56.34 percent; fourth, Denis and Nicki Whittaker, 51.61 percent; fifth, Evelyn Kleinsasser and John Donovan, 51.59 percent; first in C Strata, Bill Witt and Tom Young, 51.16 percent; second, Gloria and Randy Busby, 50.95 percent.

  • EASYBRIDGE!: With nine tables playing in the Novice game under the tutoring of Carolyn Schoenau, winners were: North-South first, Gerry King and Elizabeth Brownlee; second, Joyce McDermont and Bill Chestnut; third, Dick and Margaret Kowalske; fourth, Betty and Margie Roulston; East-West, first, Martha Krajick and Theresa Leschorn; second, Betty Hardin and Alan Hardin; third, Linda Stuart and Gene Stump; fourth, Lois and Tom Frank.

  • GATORBRIDGE: Playing a 7 1/2 table Mitchell Movement game under the direction of R. Schoenau, winners were: North-South, first, Bové and Gertrude Block, 64.53 percent; second, Moore and Wallace, 59.78 percent; third, Skelton and Sarbeck, 53.30 percent; East-West, first, Kleinsasser and Jon Shuster, 59.33 percent; second, Barbara Hendrick and Elaine Miller, 58.13 percent; third, Don Cavanaugh and Eric Wagner, 54.17 percent; third in B Strata, Judith Nelson and Helen Coogan, 49.58 percent; second in C Strata, Catherine Berg and Julia Van Deusen, 48.88 percent.

  • TOWN CLUB: In a seven-table Mitchell Movement game, winners East-West were: first, D. and N. Whittaker, 65.77 percent; second, John Donovan and Malay Ghosh, 58.04 percent; third, Sarbeck and Skelton, 54.46 percent; second in B Strata, Wajsman and Ringel, 47.02 percent; North-South, first, Edgell and Walker, 54.46 percent; second, Cavanaugh and Pat Thompson, 53.87 percent; third, Hinchey and Bailey, 52.98 percent.
