What's up kids? It's me Ryan the guy who, every week, tries his hardest to make your existence in Gainesville a little more exciting. The semester is in full effect and there are a lot of cool things going on in this crazy little town. It's time to stop surfing the net for porn and get your butt out of that chair and into the streets.

First on our "To Do List" is a trip down to the country bar. Yeah that's right, break out your cowboy boots and hat and prepare yourself for one crazy night. :08 (eight seconds) is the big bar downtown that is painted in cow print. On Thursday night, this place is turned into a total college meat market. It's Ladies night and ladies you get free wine and wells all night. For the fellas they have $1 longnecks for everyone all night. Now you might think I am an idiot for trying to get you to go to a country bar, but I promise you will have a blast at this place. Just throw on a pair of jeans and a T-shirt and you are fine. On Thursday they play all kinds of music, not just country, and the scene is made up of all kinds of crazy kids. I, personally, have never seen so many girls in one place on a Thursday night (not counting Cinemax) and girls where there is cheap beer there are men. The Later Gator rolls right by the bar so if you don't want to drive you have the option of jumping on the crazy train.

If you don't feel like poisoning your liver on Friday you can always hit the Reitz Union off for a free movie. Runaway Jury is a movie about a juror and his girlfriend and how they conspire to buy a verdict for the highest bidder. The movie is based on a novel by John Grisham. There are a few differences between the book and the movie. In the book the trial was against the tobacco industry but was changed to the gun industry when tobacco companies began loosing cases. Sorry about that, I just figured you might want to know what it was about before you went. Gene Hackman plays the bad guy and John Cusack is the hero. Dustin Hoffman is also in the flick. The cast alone makes me want to check out this movie. Show times are 6:30 p.m., 9 p.m. and 11:30 p.m.

Saturday night you can watch the Gator basketball team stomp Auburn at the O'Connell Center. The game starts a 4 p.m. I suggest getting there early because around game time it is like a bunch of New York cabbies on speed in the parking lot. I also suggest leaving early if it's a blow out but I know you guys aren't that dumb.

If basketball isn't your forte you can always check out the scene at Jetset. This place is hilarious. It's bunch of frat boys and sorority girlies acting like they are movie stars. I like going there because they have girlies swinging from the ceiling and it is also great to watch all the idiots who think they are the coolest things in the world. There is a dress code so you might want to spruce up the attire for this place but it is definitely worth checking out.

I know Sunday is usually lay on the couch like a bum day for most of us, however, if you can muster up the strength to do something there is an art show at the Florida Museum of Natural History. The show features the "Pearsall Collection of American Indian Art" and the showing is from 1 p.m. - 5 p.m.
