Soldiers pay for food on flights to Afghanistan

We just recently said goodbye to a dear friend who is in the reserved military on his way to Afghanistan on a military aircraft. We were so outraged when he told us that he has to bring with him some money to pay for his meals on the airplane if he chooses to eat regular people food instead of the military rations.
This person is on his way gambling his life to save our country and our freedom. Every military aircraft should have a personal chef on board for these soldiers and serve them the best feast on earth as it might be their last meal before they get gunned down by enemies.
I hope every American will think about this shameful gratitude the government of the United States offers to our soldiers.
