If you own a boat, camper, pickup camper, trailer or motor home and have it parked in your yard, you need to attend the City Commission meeting on Jan. 12 at 6 p.m.
The rights and privileges we currently have according to city regulations are being challenged. The regulation currently in effect is adequate for the needs of recreational owners. The current proposal would discriminate against anyone with a boat, camper trailer or motor home in excess of 16 feet. I know very few recreational vehicles that would comply with these standards.
Don't let one or two individuals curtail our rights as a citizens simply because they don't like what is parked in a neighbor's yard.
We went through this same fiasco about five years ago when owners in the country who had recreational vehicles parked in their yards where challenged by one individual. The discussion went on for weeks to packed sessions. The upshot was the county adopted the city regulations.
Here we go again. Be at the meeting and be heard.
