Can't live on minimum wage

Jack Feccia's solution to the homeless problem (Voice, Jan. 2), "...let them get a job, earn some cash so they can pay rent," demonstrates a lack of understanding. I suggest he read "Nickel and Dimed" by Barbara Ehrenreich. Through first hand experience, she shows why 40 hours of work per week, or even more, at minimum wage ($5.15/hour) is usually insufficient to provide adequate food and lodging.
Even better, let Feccia try finding a place to live at that income level.
