Standout linebacker Brandon Siler committed to the Gators this evening during the annual Florida-California All Star Game on Fox Sports. Siler is a great talent bringing a great frame and 4.45 speed to the table. He is also a very good tackler and has good hands to pick some passes off. Brandon also takes his academics very seriously, maintaining a 4.2 GPA. This commitment begins to fill a huge need for the Gators this recruiting season at linebacker. Siler has followed up his commitment with an outstanding performance in the All Star Game, which included multiple interceptions and a defensive touchdown.
Siler is the third big commitment in a little over a week for the Gators. On Christmas defensive tackle Brandon Daniel committed, just days after his visit to Gainesville. A few days later, wide receiver Lance Leggett announced his intentions to sign with Florida over Miami on February 4th. These three commitments are a great start to the critical stretch run for recruiting. The Gators first big visit weekend will be January 9 when Kyle Jackson and Siler, two Gator commits, will be part of the roster due in Gainesville.
