Kenard Allen

  • Kenard Allen died Dec. 22 of a sudden illness at Shands at AGH. He was 3 months old.
    He was born in Gainesville. Survivors include his mother, Melissa Barr of Gainesville; his father, Leonard Allen of Chiefland; brothers Khalil Barr of Gainesville and Leonard Allen Jr. of Chiefland; a sister, Jalisa Allen of Chiefland; grandparents Maxine Barr of Gainesville, Gary Barr of Starke and Cleo Young of Fort Pierce; and great-grandfather Horace Barr of Port St. Joe.

    Jay Vernon Crawford

  • Jay Vernon "J.V." Crawford of Lake City died Thursday at his home after a sudden illness. He was 84.
    Mr. Crawford was born in Union County and lived in Hillsborough County for 40 years before moving to Lake City in 1966.
    He was a retired cattle farmer and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
    He was a member of the Lakeview Church of Christ of Lake City.
    Mr. Crawford is survived by his wife, Nina Scott Crawford of Lake City; a son, Charlie Harmon Crawford of Lake City; a sister, Jeanette Knight of Providence; three brothers, J.T. Crawford of Bronson, Ward Crawford of Lake City and Lester Crawford of Providence; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

    Norma Honeycutt

  • Norma Honeycutt of Gainesville died Dec. 24 at Shands at the University of Florida. She was 48.
    Mrs. Honeycutt was born in Gainesville and is a lifelong area resident.
    Survivors include a son, Charles Len Prevatt of Newberry; daughters Melody Duncan and Shannon Libby, both of Gainesville; brothers Wesley Yawn of Fort White and Christopher Duncan of Newberry; sisters Shirley Goble of Newberry, Kathy Byrd of Newberry, Virgie Ellison of Perry and Judy Holt of Newberry; and seven grandchildren.

    Theresa M. Isabel

  • Theresa M. Isabel of Alachua died Wednesday at the North Florida Regional Medical Center after a lengthy illness. She was 73.
    Mrs. Isabel was born in Lewiston, Maine, and moved to Gainesville in 1977.
    She was a homemaker and an avid quilter. She was a member of the Plantation Oaks Golf Club and St. Madeleine's Catholic Church in High Springs.
    Survivors include her husband of 53 years R. Joseph Isabel of Alachua; sons Timothy Isabel of North Andover, Mass., Michael Isabel of Mount Vernon, Ind., Joseph Isabel of Brandon, Theodore Isabel of Newburyport, Mass., and Christopher Isabel of Valrico; daughter Karen Reynolds of Pittsfield, Mass.; brothers Joseph Murray of Lewiston, Maine, Michael Murray of Titusville, and Daniel Murray of Claremont, N.H.; sisters Eva LaDouceur of Lewiston, Maine, Jacqueline Young of Lewiston, Idaho, and Carol Christiansen of Ware, Mass.; and 12 grandchildren.
