11 tables play Mitchell at weekly game

  • GAINESVILLE BRIDGE CLUB: There were 11 tables playing a Mitchell Movement game under the direction of Ron Schoenau.
    Winners East-West were first, Malay Ghosh and Calvin Rowe, 68.52 percent; second, Denis and Nicki Whittaker, 67.22 percent; third, Adrian Dovell and Jon Shuster, 60.21 percent; fourth, Gus and Ruth Palenik, 53.33 percent.
    Winners North-South were first, Matt and Rob Meckstroth, 65.94 percent; second, Marion Bové and Lois Hinchey, 53.44 percent; third, Kevin Quirk and Shauna Quirk, 51.76 percent; fourth, Mary Bailey and Rosalie Bond, 50.61 percent.
  • EASYBRIDGE: In the Novice Game with five tables in play, winners were: East-West, first, Bonnie Kraft, 67.35 percent; second, Kay Bett Martin and Lois Tulenko, 55.94 percent; third, Martha Krajich and Theresa Leschorn, 50.31 percent.
    North-South winners were first, Margaret Wilson and Mary Medlock 59.54 percent; second, Mary Bird and Frank Mills, 54.85 percent; third, Patricia Turner and Carrol Florkiewicz, 54.60 percent.
  • GATORBRIDGE: With 13 pairs competing in a Howell Movement game under the direction of Carolyn Schoenau, winners were: first, Rowe and Jackie McCracken, 66.25 percent; second, Eric Wagner and Hinchey, 61.11 percent; third, Bové and Marilyn Froscher, 57.78 percent; fourth, Betty Skelton and Don Cavanaugh, 56.30 percent; fifth, Taylor Wallace and Elaine Miller, 52.50 percent.
  • TOWN CLUB: Utilizing the Howell Movement with 11 pairs competing, winners were: first, John Donovan and Helen Collins, 64.58 percent; second, Rowe and D. Whittaker, 54.63 percent; and a third place tie by Froscher and Bové with Linda Carder and McCracken, 54.17 percent.

    Easybridge plays Mondays at 7:15 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowshipt.
    The Gainesville Bridge Club plays Mondays at 7:30 p.m., also at UUF.
    Gatorbridge plays Tuesdays at 12:50 p.m. at The Village.
    Town Club plays Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. at Holiday Inn West.
    Rubber bridge is played Tuesdays at 10 a.m. at the Thelma Boltin Center.
