Dead dogs left impression

I agree with Mandi Jean (Jan.15) that the photo of dead dogs at Animal Services was horrifying and offensive. However, I believe more people need to be offended by such depictions.
As the former manager of a pet supply store in Gainesville, one of my duties was to take food donations to Animal Services. On one occasion I drove to the loading dock around back. When I got out of my car, I was sickened to see about 80 dead dogs lined up on the dock. There were pure bred dogs and mutts of all sizes as well as entire litters of puppies.
The staff person apologized that I had not been informed it was euthanasia day when I called. She also told me they usually had to perform this gruesome task three times a week.
If the people who allow their pets to roam freely, refuse to have their animals neutered and stand outside the supermarket with "free pets to good homes" were penalized by having to see what I witnessed that day, perhaps there would be fewer irresponsible, ignorant pet owners leading to a smaller number of pets waiting to be adopted.
