Waldo police only doing their job

As a resident of the city of Waldo since 1976, I totally disagree with the term "speed trap" when used to describe Waldo. I cannot understand why people think that because the Waldo Police Department is doing what they have been hired to do, and issuing tickets to drivers of cars who are exceeding the speed limit - that constitutes a speed trap! The speeds are plainly marked, on a straight roadway, easily seen, with plenty of notice.
The information in the book by Chris Kirkland may or may not be true - but the fact remains that if no one exceeded the speed limit - there would be no speeding tickets. What part of that is difficult to understand?
