After the relatively poor performance of their debut release Chorus of One, Va. band Strike Anywhere roars back with their latest compilation, Change is a Sound. This new album pulses with razor-sharp lyrics and a double-edged musical arrangement. Ben (vocals, guitar) and Thomas (lead vocals) not only construct smart, politcally charged lyrics, but also incorporate strong harmony and memorable lead vocals in the mix. Eric (drums) forcefully comes into his own as well, with driving drum beats and complementing fills.
For anyone unfamiliar with the group, or anyone disappointed by their previous work, give track five, "Sunset on 32nd", a listen. If anything could convince someone to run directly to the local record store and purchase this album, the complex construction and poignant message of this single track is it. This is an album that promises greatness and truly delivers.
