The 3rd Bobcat Shootout takes place today and Saturday at Buchholz High School, and will feature high quality talent from teams around the area and state.
Tonight's action is tipped off with city champion P.K. Yonge taking on Clearwater Countryside at 6. The host Bobcats then face Miami Booker T. Washington at about 7:30.
Saturday will be loaded, as seven games are on the docket.
The 10:30 a.m. tilt features Santa Fe versus Belleview. Gainesville against Clearwater Countryside follows at noon with Booker T. Washington meeting Tavares at 1:45 p.m. Eastside and South Lake will then tip off at 3:30.
In what Buchholz coach Bob Horodyski says could be "the best game of the weekend", P.K. Yonge faces Lake Howell at 5:15. The next game, scheduled for a 7 p.m. start, is expected to pit the area's two leading scorers - Hawthorne's Cornelius Ingram and Columbia's Murrell Cray - and the finale will be the Bobcats taking on Orlando West Orange at 8:45 p.m.
"With the Gators not playing, this is a great day of basketball for locals to come out and watch," Horodyski said. "We think we have some really good teams and matchups, and this should give everyone a nice number of games to enjoy."
