There are two types of politicians: 1) the type that mouths the political strategists' well-calculated but empty lines; and 2) the serious-minded public servant who actually does the public's business.
The latter is a rarity, but we Floridians have one - former two-term governor, now U.S. senator, Bob Graham.
With over 20 years as a successful state and federal leader, Graham is too busy doing the public's work to get involved in the glitz or image - wars that lesser politicians find so enticing.
If you've heard Graham speak in person, you know he is intelligence-incarnate, with a sharp sense of humor to boot. If you've reviewed his record, you know his knowledge of the issues is broader than that of perhaps any public servant alive today.
Graham has true wisdom and perspective. He has first-hand experience in dealing with issues such as national security and intelligence, government finance, energy, natural resources and veterans affairs.
He works to balance our needs and interests, everything from improving education to protecting our constitutional rights.
Let's encourage Bob Graham to run for president by e-mailing him a one-liner (he's too busy taking care of our business to read more) at his address at email@example.com. gov.
