ENGAGEMENTS

  • Campen-Carroll

    Ben Campen and Dixie Campen, both of Gainesville, announce the engagement of their daughter, Ashley Michelle Campen, to Andrew Michael Carroll, son of Briggs Carroll and Jane Gibbons, both of Sarasota.

    The bride-elect graduated from Gainesville High School and Georgia Southern University, Statesboro, Ga.

    The bridegroom-elect graduated from Sarasota High School and the University of Florida.

    The wedding is planned for March 1.

  • Kurtz-Smith

    Michael and Shirley Kurtz, Gainesville, announce the engagement of their daughter, Kimberly Kurtz, to Brian Smith, Richmond, Va., son of Dave and Joyce Smith, Vero Beach.

    The bride-elect graduated from Buchholz High School and the University of Florida.

    The bridegroom-elect graduated from the University of Florida.

    The wedding is planned for June 7.

  • Dillow-Bernardino III

    Christina and Robert Grey, Alachua, announce the engagement of their daughter, Tiffany Dillow of New York, N.Y., to Victor Bernardino III, son of Victor Bernardino II, Gibbstown, N.J.

    The bride-elect graduated from P.K. Yonge Developmental Research School and the University of Florida.

    The bridegroom-elect graduated from Paulsboro High School (N.J.); Franklin and Marshall College, Lancaster, Pa.; and Drexel University, Philadelphia, Pa.

    The bridegroom-elect is also the son of the late Jillian Star Bernardino.

    Their wedding is planned for Aug. 23.

  • VanderReyden-Town|

    Debra L. VanderReyden, Hawthorne, and Reg R. VanderReyden, High Springs, announce the engagement of their daughter, Amber Dawn VanderReyden of High Springs, to Levi James Town of High Springs, son of Valerie L. Town, Alachua, and Scott D. Town, Gainesville.

    The bride-elect graduated from Loften High School, Gainesville.

    The bridegroom-elect graduated from Loften High School.

    The wedding is planned for May 3.

    Kenneth and Diana Platt of Lake City announce the engagement of their friends, Teresa Ann Cates and Herman Eugene Butler, both of Lake City.

    The wedding is planned for Feb. 22.

  • Arnold-Greene

    Kelli Arnold and James Greene Jr. were married Nov. 23 in the Ritz Carlton Courtyard at Amelia Island. Officiating was Pastor Jackie Hayes.

    The bride, daughter of Eugene C. and Patricia E. Arnold, Gainesville, wore a strapless French satin gown. Her attendants were Angie Smithers, Emily Arnold, Becky Harpe, Jessica Hebel, Jane Hill, Linda Michalisin, Jessica Tyler, Grace Koziol and Anna Avellaneda.

    The bridegroom, son of James H. and Grace C. Greene, Gainesville, was attended by James H. Greene, Bruce Hardy, Grier Kirkpatrick, John Roscow, Chris Smithers, Rick Wadell, Mari Avellaneda and Trey Koziol.

    The bride and bridegroom own Greene and Arnold Insurance, Gainesville.

    The couple will live in Gainesville.

  • Newton-Hughes

    Laura Newton and Duke Hughes were married Dec. 21 in the Baughman Center on the University of Florida campus. Officiating was pastor Joe Wendorph.

    The bride, daughter of Jim and Barbara Newton, Ormond Beach, wore a strapless satin gown. Her attendants were Rose Monahan, Erica Mangiaracina, Vanessa Craig, Brook Hughes and Adam Collins.

    The bridegroom, son of Don and Sally Hughes, Port Orange, was attended by Neil MacGinnis, Cliff Bennett, Andrew Mathers and Patrick Miller.

    The bride is employed as a first grade teacher at Lawton Chiles Elementary School, Gainesville.

    The bridegroom is a graduate student in mechanical engineering at the University of Florida.

    After a wedding trip to Costa Rica, the couple will live in Gainesville.

    ANNIVERSARIES

  • Harold & Florence Bedell

    Harold E. and Florence W. Bedell of Gainesville celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary Friday. They were married Jan. 17, 1934 in Morristown, N.J.

    The Bedells moved to Gainesville in 1950 when Harold was transferred to Gainesville as district supervising engineer for Southern Bell Telephone Co., from which he retired in 1975 after 33 years of service, and is a life member of the Telephone Company Pioneers of America.

    Mrs. Bedell is a homemaker and served as a member of the Alachua General Hospital Auxiliary and the Gainesville Garden Club Daisy Circle.

    The Bedells are members of the First Presbyterian Church and new residents of The Village, where they enjoy the many opportunities for fun, relaxation and social activities with many of their long-time and new friends.

    Joining in their celebration Friday were their family members, including four grandsons and their families. Also celebrating were their two daughters-in-law. The Bedells' two sons are deceased.

  • Katharine Carter Alsobrook: daughter of John and Jennifer Alsobrook of Gainesville, on Dec. 16 in North Florida Regional Medical Center, Gainesville. She weighed 7 pounds, 14 ounces and measured 21 1/2 inches. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Vaughn Alsobrook of Gainesville and Dr. and Mrs. James Latham White of Manassas, Va.

  • Savannah Alexis Beauregard: daughter of Kenneth and Sheryl Beauregard of Gainesville, on Nov. 23 in The Birth Center of Gainesville. She weighed 7 pounds, 8 1/2 ounces and measured 20 inches. Grandparents are June Beauregard and Albert Beauregard, and George Jr. and Becky Spence, all of Gainesville.

  • Emma Victoria Bieber: daughter of Heather Bieber of Gainesville, Dec. 11 in The Birth Center of Gainesville. She weighed 8 pounds, 5 ounces and measured 20 inches. Grandparents are David and Linda Bieber, and great-grandparents are Gene and Ann Bieber and Cliff and Elaine Scheck, all of Winter Haven.

  • Tristin Dwayne Gagnon: son of Corey and K.C. Delane Gagnon of Hawthorne, on Dec. 30 in Shands Hospital at UF. He weighed 3 pounds 7 ounces and measured 16 1/2 inches. Grandparents are Denise and Jason Kemper of Hawthorne; Roger and Kayren Sebree of Rising Sun, Ind.; and Karen Whidden of Hawthorne.

  • Garrett Thomas George: son of Thomas and Kelly Greenan George of High Springs, on Nov. 12 in North Florida Regional Medical Center. He weighed 9 pounds 4 ounces and measured 21 1/4 inches. Grandparents are Tom and Mary Lou Greenan of Johnson and Wayne and Phyllis George of High Springs.

  • Hannah Marie Hodge: daughter of Jason and Christie Hodge of Honolulu, Hawaii, on Nov. 6 in Tripler Medical Center, Honolulu. She weighed 6 pounds 11 ounces and measured 18 1/4 inches. Grandparents are Gary and Vickie Hodge of High Springs and Joby and Melanie Wise of Gainesville. Great grandparents are Leona Deese of Ft. White, Jerry and Eugenie Gentry of Florahome, Ala., and Margie Banks of Gainesville, and Cora Lee Brewer of Gainesville.

  • Trent Aaron Steedley: son of Joshua and Terésa Sapp Steedley of Ft. White, on Nov. 27 in North Florida Regional Medical Center. He weighed 6 pounds, 4 1/2 ounces and measured 19 inches.   • Isabella Ana McKee: daughter of Duane and Kendra McKee of Gainesville, on Nov. 25 in Shands Hospital at UF. She weighed 6 pounds, 14 ounces and measured 19 inches. Grandparents are Charles and Judy McKee of Melbourne and George E. Kerr Sr. of Belleview.

  • Dominic Savino Pepe: son of Steven and Kimberly Pepe of Gainesville, on Dec. 21 in The Birth Center of Gainesville. He weighed 8 pounds, 6 ounces and measured 20 inches. Grandparents are Lisa and Mark Roberts of Ormond Beach and Annell and Steven Pepe of Boca Raton.

  • Cassidy "Makayla" Pinner: daughter of Dwight and Charlene Philmon Pinner of High Springs, on Dec. 6 in Shands at AGH. She weighed 7 pounds, 14 ounces and measured 20 inches. Grandparents are James and Annette Philmon of Cross City and Jimmy Ray and Pam Pinner of High Springs.
