Dovell becomes Diamond Life Master

The January issue of American Contract Bridge Bulletin reports that Adrian Dovell has accumulated 5000 masterpoints to become a Diamond Life Master.

  • GAINESVILLE BRIDGE CLUB: Playing a nine-table Mitchell Movement under the direction of Ron Schoenau, winners were: East-West, first, Don Cavanaugh and Ann Johnson, 60.82 percent; second, Denis and Nicki Whittaker, 57.99 percent; third, Gus and Ruth Palenik, 56.63 percent; fourth, Calvin Rowe and Malay Ghosh, 53.10 percent.
    Winners North-South were: first, Marilyn Froscher and Linda Carder, 58.22 percent; second, Jackie McCracken and Evelyn Kleinsasser, 56.67 percent; third, Vivian Kantor and Marion Bové, 52.78 percent; fourth, Mary Newsome and Mike Bean, 51.68 percent.
  • GATORBRIDGE: There were nine tables competing in a Mitchell Movement game under the direction of C. Schoenau. East-West winners were: first, Edna Walker and Reba Faison, 57.26 percent; second, Jon Shuster and Kleinsasser, 54.81 percent; third, Rowe and McCracken, 54.57 percent; fourth, Mickey Dorné and Froscher, 52.34 percent; and second in B Strata, Don & Mary Lou Schostek, 50.32 percent. North South, first, Helen Collins and Miriam Moss, 55.15 percent; second, Taylor Wallace and Dick LeFevre, 55.06 percent; third, Kantor and Betty Moore, 52.52 percent; fourth Betty Skelton and Cathy O'Sickey, 52.46 percent.
  • TOWN CLUB: Again utilizing the Mitchell Movement in a seven-table game under the direction of Rowe, winners were: North-South, first, C. Schoenau and Carder, 64.79 percent; second, Collins and John Donovan, 57.64 percent; third, McCracken and Kleinsasser, 52.18 percent. East-West winners were, first, Gwen Dulaney and Froscher, 59.17 percent; second, Walker and Skelton, 56.45 percent; third, Rowe and D. Whittaker, 54.32 percent.
  • EASYBRIDGE: In the four-table Novice game, North-South winners were: first, Jeff Cheek and George Holstein; second, Margaret Wilson and Mary Medlock. East West winners were: first, D. and M.L. Schostek, second, Martha Riherd.
  • BOLTIN CENTER: The Laura Stewart game had six tables coordinated by Joe Letter. Joan Buczek was high with 6,680, followed by Dorothy Cassatly with 5,210.
