WEDDINGS

  • Pfahler-Radford

    Beth Pfahler and Blanton Radford were married Oct. 5 in First Presbyterian Church, Marietta, Ga. Officiating were Dr. John D. Wells and Rev. Michael R. Wilson. The bride, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Paul Pfahler, Gainesville, wore an organza A-line dress with cap sleeves and beaded bodice.

    Her attendants were Diane Cassaro (matron of honor), Kimberly Price, Stephanie Tabrisky, Luciana Cassaro and Therese Cassaro.

    The bridegroom, son of Mrs. Patricia Radford, Acworth, Ga., and the late William Blanton Radford Sr., was attended by Lee Radford , David Hilts, and Robert Macaulay.

    The bride is employed by Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

    The bridegroom is employed by Virtek Laser Systems, Ontario, Canada.

    After a wedding trip to New Hampshire, the couple will live in Atlanta.

  • Hale-Martin

    Cynthia Hale and John Martin were married Dec. 7 at Silver Springs Twin Oaks Mansion in Silver Springs.

    Officiating was pastor Ted Wood.

    The bride, daughter of Richard and Patricia Hale, Dunnellon, wore an Alfred Angelo A-line gown with a beaded bodice and train. Her attendants were Tracey Cauthen, Kerri Wood, Krista Martin, Patty Cauthen, Danielle Martin.

    The bridegroom, son of Ronald and Virginia Martin, Micanopy, was attended by Ron Martin Jr., Chris Lewis, Curtis Cauthen, Darren Cheman and Brian Martin.

    The bride is employed by CH2M Hill, Gainesville.

    The bridegroom is employed by American Fire and Safety in Ocala.

    After a wedding trip to Georgia, the couple will live in Micanopy.

  • McWilliams-Lanciani

    Amanda Kay McWilliams and Andrew Mark Lanciani were married Dec. 14 in Richardson East Church of Christ, Richardson, Texas.

    Officiating was Glenn Redmond.

    The bride, daughter of John and Mary Ann McWilliams, Garland, Texas, wore a sleeveless silk gown with an embossed bodice and chapel train. Her attendants were Kimberly Carrillo, Leah Farmer, Tammy Fitzgerald, Maureen Nall, Andrea Smiley and Madeline Lanciani.

    The bridegroom, son of Carmine and Grace Lanciani, Gainesville, was attended by Chris Lanciani, Gary Jackson, Alberto Mendez, David Parker, Jason Walker, George Chow, Kris Green, Keith Lucy and Brandon Worsham.

    The bride is employed by Legacy Bank in Plano, Texas.

    The bridegroom is employed as a marketing analyst for Blockbuster Corp. in Dallas, Texas.

    After a wedding trip to Kauai, Hawaii, the couple will live in Garland, Texas.

    ANNIVERSARIES

  • George & Gladys Pierce

    George and Gladys Pierce will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday. They were married Jan. 18, 1953 in Cleveland, Tenn. They have been residents of Bradford and Alachua counties for more than 45 years. Pierce is a retired Bradford County judge and a U.S. Air Force Veteran who served in the Korean War. He currently serves as a senior judge for various counties.

    Gladys Pierce retired from the Bradford County Tax Collector's office in 1994. They are active members of the First Baptist Church of Starke.

    They are the proud parents of Lynn Pierce Godwin of Gainesville, and Robert G. Pierce of Cleveland, Tenn. The couple have five grandchildren. They enjoy traveling and spending time with friends and family.

    A reception given by their children and honoring the couple is planned for 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church of Starke. Local invitations will not be sent. All friends are invited to join in the celebration. No gifts, please, only your presence and friendship are desired.

    The bridegroom-elect graduated from The Bolles School, Jacksonville, and Georgia Southern University, Statesboro.

    The wedding is planned for Feb. 1.

    The bridegroom-elect graduated from P.K. Yonge Developmental Research School and Dallas Baptist University. He is currently attending Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

    The wedding is planned for May 17.

    The bridegroom-elect graduated from Thomas Dale High School (Chester, Va.), and Bluefield (Va.) College.

    The bridegroom-elect is also the son of the late Patricia Ann Cox.

    The wedding is planned for July 12.
