James Robert Clark

  • OLD TOWN - James Robert "Bob" Clark died Sunday at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville. He was 56.
    Mr. Clark was born in Tampa and moved to Old Town in 1998. He was a drywall finisher.
    Survivors include his wife, Sharon Clark of Old Town; daughters Amy Jenkins of Tampa, Barbara Goodman of Jacksonville and Lisa Suggs of Old Town; his mother, Dorothy Clark of West Palm Beach; a sister, Sherry Morris of West Palm Beach; a brother, David Clark of Japan; a granddaughter, Meaghan Suggs of Old Town; and six other grandchildren.

    Vesta Allen Clark

  • JACKSONVILLE - Vesta Allen Clark died Sunday in Jacksonville. She was 88.
    Mrs. Clark was born in Valdosta, Ga., and spent most of her life in Jacksonville.
    Survivors include a son, Daniel Clark of Orange Park; a daughter, Joy Lastinger of Gainesville; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

    Gertrude Sorensen Henry

  • Gertrude Sorensen Henry of Gainesville died Friday at her home. She was 83.
    Mrs. Henry was born in Ridley Park, Pa., and came here from Newton, Mass., in 1987. She was a retired medical secretary for Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston and a homemaker.
    She was a member of Gainesville Friends of Jazz and Blues and Harn Museum, and she volunteered with the Alachua County Library. She enjoyed camping, travel, reading, cooking, needlework and the arts. She attended Unity of Gainesville.
    She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Jon Henry.
    Survivors include daughters Susan Henry Young of Gainesville and Nancy Henry of Alachua; a brother, Paul Sorensen of Pompano Beach; and sisters Dorothy M. Sorensen of Ridley Park, Pa., and Anna B. Sorenesen of Lima, Pa.
