Gatorsports counts down the top 25 games in the SEC for the 2010 season.
NO. 17 OREGON AT TENNESSEE
When: Sept. 11, 7 p.m.
Why it's must-see TV: This is one of the most intriguing non-conference games in the SEC this season. The Ducks could come into Neyland Stadium as a top 10 team, and the favorites to win the Pac-10. For UT, this will be new coach Derek Dooley's first real test — and a chance to gauge how good (or how mediocre) this Tennessee team is going to be. If the Vols produce a big upset (or are even in the game in the closing minutes), it makes the UT-Florida game a week later that much bigger.
All-time record: This is the first meeting between the two teams.
Recent history: The Vols have had awful luck against the Pac-10, losing three consecutive games to teams from that conference. UT fell to UCLA 19-15 a year ago in Knoxville and lost to the Bruins in Los Angeles 27-24 two years ago. In 2007, the Vols were thumped by Cal 45-31 in Berkley.
Quick hit: Dooley, the son of former Georgia coaching legend Vince Dooley, was a walk-on receiver at Virginia before earning a scholarship. He went on to earn a law degree from the University of Georgia in 1994 and spent two years at a private law firm in Atlanta before getting into coaching.
