Seeking more playing time, Florida third-team linebacker John Jones has decided to transfer, a source told The Sun on Sunday.
Jones, a 6-foot-2, 219-pound junior out of Sarasota, dressed for 13 games last season and saw action in all but two of those games as a member of the kickoff unit and as a reserve linebacker. He had 18 tackles, including 13 solos.
Florida coach Urban Meyer said Saturday one UF player was expected to transfer to a school where he can get more of an opportunity to play. Meyer declined to name the player.
