Scout.com ranks Gilbert as the forty-second best offensive tackle in the country.
Projected as: OL
Position Rank: 42
Year: Class of 2006
High School: St. Thomas Aquinas HS
(Fort Lauderdale, FL)
At 6-foot-6 and 280 pounds, he has great size for the position. He is also noted as having great body control for a player of his size.
If he can get aggressive and continues to grow as a player, he could challenger for a major role on the team early.
In high school, Gilbert played defensive line, but is expected to stick to offense when he makes the jump to the college level.
His natural ability and the fact that the Gators are in need of help on the offensive line, means he has a major opportunity to be a big-time player.
