    • Hey GatorG, good to see you posting again after what must have been a short break. Have to disagree c you…..I see FSU falling to the Gators this year. I’m really serious. Now the one I’m not too sure of is Georgia. I shot my big, fat mouth off and declared the Gators would win, 25-22, but after further analysis (ie, a second power nap on the same day, indeed a rare event in this household) the only thing I’m sure of is that the final score is 25-22. I guarantee it, the team with the 25 wins, of course. • Man you must be really down on the Gators if you think a 7 win FSU team is on a different level. Georgia I can understand, but FSU? Come on man, they were just as bad as the Gators with a hell of a lot less lost players. There’s bigger problems with that program than meets the eye.

      • Joe, that 7 win team did a number on us in the Swamp with a true Freshman QB. Fisher was a problem for the program and now he’s gone. In my mind, it all comes down to Taggart. If he does a good job, then we’re in trouble for the foreseeable future. It’s really that simple.

        • In “us”, you mean all that 7 win talent at FSU, right Mikey? Now, come on back as Tebowcurse or any one of your many IDs on here. You choose the name, but the troll message will remain the same.

          • Oh for Pete’s sake.

So you’ve started up again, now GatorG is Mikey the Troll, aka TebowCurse. And, I presume I am too. as you already indirectly suggested. I swear man, you beat the cake. Does anyone who takes an opposing position automatically become a troll? TebowCurse speaks for himself, dude….he doesn’t need any help.

And just when I was beginning to think you were OK…….

          • Gator 6. Then stop trolling with G, then. And I really could care less if you think I am OK or not. Or that you do not like my posts. I am asking for better on here and it does not matter to me if that bothers you or not. Simple as that.

          • Tampa. I take it “better” means spewing whatever nonsense you happen you agree with. Grow a pair, dude. This is not a Gator “safe space.” If you can’t handle dissenting thoughts and opinions, then perhaps you’re the one that should stop trolling. Leave people alone and mind your own nonsense. The last thing anyone needs is your myopic and paranoid contributions (if one can call them that).

          • You are by no means in any position to tell me to “stop trolling with GatorG then”, Tampa. I will communicate with whoever I choose, you are neither big enough nor man enough to stop me. And, I’m glad you don’t care if I like you or not….that shows at least a modicum of maturity on your part. However, you are wrong when you surmise that I don’t like your posts. The truth is, I like them very much, you have an amazing level of football savvy and good communication skills…..but you’re absolutely correct….I don’t like it when you act like a bully.

I offered you to take this off line like southern gentlemen the last time you flared up with this stuff. I’ll go you one better this time: Do you want my email address? Just say the word, we can stop bothering everybody else with this.

  1. I agree Florida must beat UGA and FSU, and I’ll put my name on both games going to the good guys.

I think aside from QB we will line up equally vs UGA and regardless of last year’s outcome, we are in THEIR head and we will take the game.

I think we’re going to lambaste FSU. New coach who sucked until his final year at USF (We clearly have the advantage here). Their QB looked good as a Fr but has done little since. ITS OUR TIME …I hope.

    • You speak the corporate line, JC…but the reality of the situation is that we simply don’t have the players to compete with the likes of FSU, UGA and other elite programs. Taggart may not be all that, but if he’s as good as advertised, then we’re in deep trouble as a program for a long, long time. He out-recruited Mullen last year and is on pace to do so again this year (just check any of the recruiting sites). I agree that it’s a must-win, though because if Taggart beats Mullen in year one, then FSU’s recruiting advantage will become virtually insurmountable. That program has had us in a choke hold for years, I hope to God that this is finally the year we break free.

      • I think that’s explainable, G, when you factor in the influence of the sports media on recruits. I honestly think it accounts for much more than we think, and is decidedly not a rationalization. Let me explain. During the Gator’s lengthy down turn, you almost would have thought they had dropped football as a NCAA sport–if going by the national sports media. Virtually the only coverage we got was when Chip Kelly flirted c the job–never mind that we passed on him, it sounded like he passed on us and that’s what recruits heard. FSU and others, of course, didn’t experience a down turn except for last year, and their coverage was still superb. When Taggert came on board and Jimbo left, it was a big story and he was treated like the second coming of Christ. Mullen? Yawn. Even left out of one national story about new coaches in the south.

It will reverse itself. It always does.

      • Taggart out recruited most coaches last year. He was sitting at #5 in the recruiting rankings at Oregon before moving to FSU. Most of the top recruits he had committed to Oregon were Florida players, so it wasn’t very hard for him to transition to FSU. Recruiting is what he’s known for and he’ll always do that well. The jury’s still out on how good he is at developing and coaching those recruits. It’s easy to turn around programs that have nowhere to go but up, but he has absolutely no track record of maintaining an already established power 5 program. Mac turned around CSU in 3 seasons, did that mean he was a great coach?

          • Gator Nation does not need Taggart or FSU to fail. Gator Nation needs Mullen to succeed. And at least one Florida QB to step up and play well this season. True Gator Nation could give a damn about FSU.

        • There are many coaches who can recruit. There are many coaches who can coach. There are very few coaches who can recruit and coach. Coach Smart can do both. Not so sure about Coach Taggart. I’m hopeful that Coach Mullen can do both.

  2. 1) LSU. They’re biggest home game of the season, its a HUGE SEC rivalry game, it’s nationally televised, and the stadium will be packed with Gator fans and who else? RECRUITS. Matter of fact, winning this game could go a long way is establishing our 2018 recruiting class and setting up positive momentum for the second half of the season.

    2) fsu. They’re an in-state rival, and not just in football, but in recruiting. Plus, they’ve won 5 in a row which they’ve never done before and its time to end that streak. Plus, they ran off a great coach in Jumbo Fisher and replaced him with their version of Muschamp. If we don’t have an injury-depleted team again this year, UF will beat fsu.

        • I hate to agree c TebowCurse, who I admit did make surprising sense this time…..but I still disagree with you G……FSU is not as good as they’re proclaimed to be and Florida has more talent than people suspect, plus a coach who knows what to do with it. Taggert be damned.

          • I think FSU fans (above) need to ask their team to beat Boston College before they troll their “must win” advice on what Florida needs to do this season.

      • I actually agree with you 100%. Beating the Mildcats and Vols is crucial to setting the tone for the season and helping to restore confidence to a fragile team that still has last year’s bad taste in their mouth. The first step is getting these guys to believing that they can win in the SEC.

Beating FSU will help with recruiting and will help with the fanbase….but that’s a long way off. The season will be made or broken long before then.

  3. We better beat Kentucky and Tennessee. We always beat Kentucky even when we shouldn’t and Tennessee is way worse off than us . South Carolina is about as good as they are going to get and the same goes for Mississippi State and Missouri. We should beat all three of them just from a talent perspective. The only disadvantage we have had for the last 8 years or so is coaching. We should have finally fixed that this year and will be much better on offense, where we need to improve the most. Our defense which has plenty of talent will be good enough to keep us in any game on the schedule. FSU which has beat us 7 out of the last 8 years had a big advantage over us COACHING . Jimbo was a much much better coach than anything we’ve had since Meyer, that’s a fact. FSU fans might not want to admit it because Fisher jumped ship, just like Meyer did to us, when the program was going down. FSU fans better get ready for a big reality check when they play this year and against us. It won’t be as smooth as they think it’s going to be. Georgia, had one good year of football and now everyone’s scared of them…. They won the SEC when more coaches got fired than any other year I can remember. We also have beat them 3 out of the last 4 years with an offense that was ranked in the 100’s. This last years game was handed to them with 10 of our players getting suspended and a coach that was about to get fired. That being said we are in a rebuilding year and the hardest games to win will be LSU, Georgia, and FSU. LSU and FSU are a toss up in which I like our chances, Georgia is Georgia, if we are playing good football by week 8 then we always have a good chance against them. Go Gators!

    • There are no guarteed wins in the SEC.
JIMBO OUT RECRUITED LOTS OF SCHOOLS INCLUDING UF, BUT HE DID NOT WIN GAMES ON THE LEVEL OF HIS PLAYERS. I GUESS I AM SAYING HE WAS POOR COACH, BECAUSE HE HAD BAMA TALENT BUT DID NOT WIN AT BAMA LEVEL. THE TALENT IS STILL THERE. SO FSU SHOULD WIN IF TALENT IS THE DETERMING FACTOR. I WOULD LOVE TO SEE UF BECOME THE #1 RECRUITER FOR FLA PLAYERS. RIGHT NOW FSU, BAMA, CLEMSON, OHIO ST, AND MAYBE MIAMI & UG. OVER THE LAST 8 YEARS I ESTIMATE UF HAS WON ABOUT 8-10 TOTAL PLAYERS OF THE TOP 20, (10 OUT OF 80 AT BEST). SAD BUT TRUE. SO THAT WOULD BE A GOOD PLACE TO START SEEING A CHANGE THAT WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
UG IS PROBABLY BETTER THAM BAMA NOW, SO UF IS A LONG LONG WAY TO GO TO BEAT THEM.
BUT AS I SAID ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN ON A GIVEN WEEK. BUT BEATING EVRYONE BUT FSU AND UG WOULD BE A HUGE HUGE SUCCESS. THAT IS NOT REALISTIC.

  4. Kentucky to keep the streak, and likely UGA (though you can sub LSU or FSU if they are doing great…which I doubt). Basically we need to win a game that we are heavy underdogs to set the tone for the program under Mullen.

  5. I would be worried about Tennessee if I was a gator fan, even though Pruitt is first year head coach, as a defensive coordinator he has a better record then Mullen, Tennessee got the better new coach, Mullen does not have that impressive of a win record…

    • I can’t really blame you for seeing it that way, Vol…..I get it, Tennessee is your team just like Florida is ours. And, I’ll say this too–all indications are that you guys landed a terrific head coach-in-the-making c Pruitt; personally, I’m glad as well to see Phil Fulmer back as AD since I consider him a great one too.

But that’s about all I can say. We’re going to kick your asses sideways this fall, stomp you a mud hole, and walk you dry. Pruitt as a head coach is 0-0 so far, so if that’s a better record than Mullen’s, I’ll be an egg suckin’ mule. Nice try tho, it does take some guts to come on here…..

  6. Speaking of FSU’s current dominance over Florida, ad why it also translates to recruiting, did anyone peruse who was invited to participate in the Elite Eleven QB competition? Here’s a hint: Florida’s commit wasn’t invited and FSU’s was.
