Celtics center Al Horford led Boston to a Game 1 win over the Bucks by contributing in every statistic. There’s simply no one on Milwaukee who can guard Big Al Horford. He made Milwaukee fans groan time and time again as he put up 24 points, 12 rebounds, four assists, three blocks and two steals in Boston’s 113-107 overtime win against young Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks.

Around the NBA, the Washington Wizards lost their Game 1 bid against top-seeded Toronto, but the organization did win over some fans in Gainesville after calling up forward Devin Robinson and giving him some playing time in their final game in Orlando. Robinson scored his first NBA bucket, grabbed five rebounds and made a steal, but the Wizards did lose to the Magic. The big story last week was the Los Angeles Lakers similarly calling up long-time G-League player Andre Ingram after 11 years and Devin is probably thankful it didn’t take Washington that long to call him up to the NBA.
Wizards guard Bradley Beal had 19 points, four assists and three steals in Washington’s Game 1 loss to the Raptors. Beal shot 47 percent from the field while teammate John Wall went 6-of-20 from the field (30 percent).
Thunder forward Corey Brewer surprised some people by starting Game 1 against the Jazz on Sunday after spraining his knee in OKC’s season finale. Brewer had seven points, three rebounds, two steals, a steal and a block in the Thunder’s 116-108 win.
On April 12, the New York Knicks fired head coach Jeff Hornacek after two seasons with the team. Time will tell if this opens up the possibility of Joakim Noah returning to his hometown Knicks next season.
