Chiefs wide receiver Demarcus Robinson hauled in all four of his targets from quarterback Alex Smith Saturday for 57 yards and found the end zone for the first time in his NFL career as Kansas City lost shockingly to Tennessee 22-21 in the wildcard round of the NFL playoffs.
All Robinson’s catches came at the end of the first half on a drive that started with tight end Travis Kelce leaving the game with a concussion on a hit from former-Jaguar Johnathan Cyprien. Robinson capped the drive with a touchdown, giving Kansas City a 21-3 lead heading into halftime.
Robinson was not targeted again by quarterback Alex Smith who threw for just 33 yards in the second half, but Robinson gained some great experience this year after hardly seeing the field his rookie season.
The Georgia native was drafted late in the fourth round by the Chiefs, one round ahead of Chiefs go-to receiver Tyreek Hill, who has proven himself to be one of the top play-makers in the NFL.

Around the NFL, Falcons safety Keanu Neal made eight tackles and had a pass deflection in Atlanta’s 26-13 road win over the Los Angeles Rams on Saturday while cornerback Brian Poole added four solo tackles for Atlanta, who travels to Philadelphia next Saturday to face the top-seeded Eagles.
The Eagles are the first-ever team to be a No. 1 seed in the playoffs and be a home underdog in its first playoff game. The Falcons are coming in hot, winning seven of its last nine, while the Eagles will be without their MVP-level quarterback Carson Wentz, starting middle linebacker Jordan Hicks and starting offensive tackle Jason Peters. They will however have a former-gator player on either side of the ball with tight end Trey Burton on offense and cornerback Jaylen Watkins on defense.

Jaguars defensive end Dante Fowler Jr. notched just one tackle and linebacker Lerentee McCray made two tackles in Jacksonville’s 10-3 home playoff win against the Buffalo Bills. Bills receiver Deonte Thompson caught two passes for 23 yards on six targets and rush once for nine yards in a losing effort for Buffalo.
Upcoming for Jacksonville is a trip up to Pittsburgh where Maurkice Pouncey, Marcus Gilbert and Joe Haden await.
Panthers defensive end Bryan Cox Jr. made two tackles in Carolina’s 31-26 season-ending loss to New Orleans.

Side Notes: Two former gators will be coaching for playoff teams this weekend as Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Mularkey played tight end for the Gators from 1980-82 and will face New England this weekend after winning at Kansas City.
Falcons defensive coordinator Marquand Manuel played safety for the Gators from 1998-2001 and will coach against the Eagles after winning in Los Angeles.

Update 1/11: Running back Kelvin Taylor was signed to a futures/reserve contract by the Cleveland Browns today. Taylor’s free agent status made him available to any team to sign for next year’s training camp. Taylor was drafted by San Francisco in the sixth round of last year’s NFL Draft.
