  1. Real Gator Fans like me still care. It hurts to see the Gators lose anytime. I cannot see the purpose of playing anyone at quarter except Franks, he needs more experience.
Zaire will not play for anyone after this year. Zaire tried but ……
Stop pointing at Franks. Tim Tebow would have a hard time helping the Gators at ‘this point.
I will watch the rest of our games and wait eagerly for next year and a new start.

    • I agree with you on that. No point in playing anyone but Franks. I’m not convinced the guy doesn’t have potential. With better coaching, maybe he could be good, even great. Put it this way- how do you think a young Danny Wuerfell would play on this team? Not good at all. In the future, maybe Franks will not be the guy, but Zaire definitely will not play for us in the future simply because of the circumstances of his eligibility. Let Franks play it out until the end and at least get more experience.

  3. At least the 0-10-1 team tried their butts off each game. We were so happy when we tied Ga Tech!

Maybe we won’t get a TV slot for the rest of the year?

  4. Worst Pressbox in the SEC?? Yes, at least you won the pressbox game. How sour grapes. Well….I’m sure we can find you boys a nice trailer you’ll feel at home in for the next trip up north.
    Ya’ll come back now!

  5. Lot of quitters in that game, despite what they’ve been through. A lot of just as talented kids would die for the opportunity they have.

  6. McElwain came in and ran everything Muschamp did. They are/were cut from the same cloth. One might be offensive and the other defensive but they have the same mindset except for the defense this year which I think is all Randy Shannon who I think will be lucky to get a coordinator job again. We relied 2 years on our defense. I think McElwain is a better game manager but he’s a much worse defensive coach and recruiter than Muschamp. He eeked out 1 more win in regular seasons than Muschamp did to get us to division title while dealing with some piss poor East teams(the most stable team was KENTUCKY!). For goodness sake, he had two 9-4 seasons. Zook’s worst season was 8 wins and he had to play Miami. There is a reason why all the defensive starters that had any chance of being drafted left. None of the guys that stayed had any chance of being drafted. Rats leaving a sinking ship. At least Muschamp tried different OCs even though his philosophy never changed on what he wanted his offense to look like. The QBs looked horrible, the WRs were nonexistent, and the TEs were supposed to be a big part of the offense yet would catch 1-2 passes a game. Remember when Weiss signed the 2 of the top 3 TEs in the Muschamp’s first class and both of them were done within 2 years.

The next coach needs to gut the team, get rid of everything with a memory, and start over. Needs to totally crush the team the first year and rebuild it. If we have a great record next year, I’ll be worried unless our offense looks wide open. Great coaches never start out great unless they take over a very good team and this is not a very good team. I think it speaks volumes when fans think a 9-4 season is great in a woeful division. The whole atmosphere has dropped to the pre-Spurrier days. Really more like the 70s.

    • I think you make a good point, David. The new coach really is going to have to rebuild. The thing people need to remember is that Myer took over a loaded team, however also keep in mind that it was not loaded with players that fit his system. Myer was smart enough to adapt his system to better fit the players he had on hand. Still, Zook recruited well and set things up nicely for the next guy. To be honest, I think Florida fans were prepared to give Mac time, but we just didn’t see much progress on offense, and he wasn’t recruiting well at first. And then there were his statements. He hung himself. And he survived off of Champ’s defense. Even with a complete rebuild, there should be progress from the beginning of the season to the end, and from season to season. I wouldn’t count out all of our current players through. As we have seen with various programs and coaches time and time again, good coaches will suddenly have good players because he will be able to coach them and motivate them up to their true potential. Look at Spurrier when he came to Florida- suddenly we had an All-SEC QB on the roster and great receivers. I’m not expecting an immediate turn-around, but I think you know what I mean.

  7. yeah Zook looks great right now. Back then the SEC east was much tougher too! That Georgia team looks like a legit sec team from back in the day. Ppl just forget the sec has really declined.

I agree everyone just wants the season done and noone wants to watch the games. The team can lose all three games – even UAB (who scored 52 yesterday). Hopefully they can try some crazy stuff just for fun

  8. I don’t live in the USA now, so I can’t make it to games, but I really wish Gator fans would continue to support the Gators and show up to the games. I always thought that was what separated our fans from Miami or FSU; we would fill our stadium even if losing and playing nobody. Come on Gators- go to the games and show the next coach and future players what kind of fans we are. In all kinds of weather…

Just go and have some fun- drink beer before the game, do the wave over and over again, play some Tom Petty, remember the old days. Do it for those of us too far away…
